Gadgetren – After a two-year hiatus during the 2020-2022 pandemic, PT Datascrip as the sole distributor of Canon digital imaging products in Indonesia is rumored to be returning to hold a major photography competition titled Canon PhotoMarathon Jakarta 2023.
Previously, the last Canon PhotoMarathon was held in Jakarta and Yogyakarta and Jakarta in 2019. This time Canon Photomarathon 2023 will be held at Tribeca Park, Central Park Mall, Jakarta at 10.00 – 18.00 WIB on September 2, 2023.
This event is a gathering event, routine activities, as well as a themed photo competition inspired by the Canon PhotoMarathon Indonesia which has been held 11 consecutive times since 2009.
In 2023, Canon PhotoMarathon Jakarta will have two categories including General and Student. The registration itself has been opened till 12th August 2023 through the official website Datascrimall.
Each participant is charged a fee for each category as an entry ticket to register to take part in Canon PhotoMarathon Jakarta 2023. Regarding the General category, a ticket is charged IDR 250,000, while for the Student category, a ticket is charged IDR 200,000.
Camera equipment used by participants is free from any brand during the contest, ranging from pocket digital cameras, DSLRs, to mirrorless. Each participant during the competition will be asked to get the best image with the theme announced at that time.
Time to search or take photos is set. For participants who successfully submit two photo subjects, they will receive attractive prizes in the form of Canon cameras or products as well as mutual funds from each category and ranking plus an Eco Medal award.
The Eco-Medal is a unique medal that uses plastic waste as a base material which was produced by students of ATMI Cikarang Industrial Polytechnic. This is Canon’s step to join the campaign for participants about the importance of caring for the environment and contributing to the preservation of the universe.
Each photo submitted by entrants will then be selected by a panel of judges who are professional photographers from various genres of photography. They are Aldo Sinarta, Mas Agung Wilis Yudha Baskoro, Michael Sidharta, Misbachul Munir, Rendha Rais and Willy Kurniawan.
After the competition ends and pending the announcement of the winner, Canon will also present a ProTalk session in which participants can participate with professional photographer Arbain Rambey as a guest speaker.
And not only that, to entertain the participants and the spectators who will be present there will be various exciting games that will make this event even more lively. This photo contest will compete for a total prize of hundreds of millions of rupees for the two categories as follows.

- 1st place: EOS R8 Body Only & Fund worth IDR 8,000,000.
- Juara 2 : EOS R10 with RF-S18-45mm IS STM lens.

Student Category, Subjects 1 and 2
- 1st Winner: EOS R100 with RF-S18-45mm IS STM lens & Fund worth IDR 4,000,000.
- Juara 2 : EOS 3000D with EF-S18-55mm III lens.
- 3rd Place: PowerShot ZOOM.
- 5 Hope Champion: PIXMA TS207.
