AMD releases Ryzen 7040U series processors for thin and light notebook devices

Gadgetren – After introducing processors for gaming and creator laptops through the Ryzen 7040HS series, AMD is now back with the latest Ryzen 7000 family processors through the Ryzen 7040U series.

Serial processor Ryzen The 7040U delivers thin and light notebook performance with even faster response and power than before.

This editor is intended to equip users to complete various tasks such as video editors, 3D rendering, content creators and many more.

The Ryzen 7040U series processor features four variants which include Ryzen 7 7840U, Ryzen 5 7640U, Ryzen 5 7540U and Ryzen 3 7440U. For the highest variant Ryzen 7 7840U, it has 8 cores and 16 threads with speeds up to 5.1 GHz, 24MB cache and 15-30W TDP.

In addition, the Ryzen 7040U series processor is built on the Zen 4 and RDNA 3 architecture, and for some models is powered by an AI engine, namely AMD XDNA. The processor with the first AI engine is manufactured through a 4nm manufacturing process.

The AI engine called AMD Ryzen AI is capable of streaming AI for up to four real-time multitasking tasks simultaneously. In addition, this technology also enables up to 35 percent more responsive AI experience compared to a single AI stream.

AMD Ryzen AI also uses its own hardware for artificial intelligence calculations in notebook processors, making notebooks powered by this processor more efficient and faster in AI processing in everyday applications.

To deliver a responsive visual content experience, the Ryzen 7040U series processor is paired with the default Radeon 700M series graphics processor that offers up to 12 cores with speeds up to 2.7 GHz.
