IPTech – Not long ago, a semiconductor company from Taiwan, MediaTek, came to Jakarta, which presented its newest chipset for mobile devices, Chromebook laptops and the Internet of Things (IoT).
The chipsets on display from MediaTek include the Dimensity 9200+ chipset for mobile phones, Kompanio for Chromebooks and Genio for IoT devices.
The event was attended by three MediaTek officials namely Finbarr Moynihan as Vice President, Corporate Marketing, Chinlin Low as Technical Account Manager, APAC and Cedric Chang as Deputy Director of Corporate Sales, Southeast Asia.

Dimensions 9200+
For those of you who don’t know, Dimensions 9200+ it is the successor of Dimensity 9200 which supports Vivo X90 series devices. The chipset has an octa-core that goes through a 4nm manufacturing process with a maximum speed of 3.35GHz.
The AI support for this chipset, according to Finbarr Moynihan as Vice President, Corporate Marketing, not only improves the camera’s ability to take photos but also the video results.
With its 6th generation AI processing unit (APU 690), the Dimensity 9200+ features AI noise reduction and AI super resolution to correct images and create cinematic videos, as well as bokeh.
Next, the Dimensity 9200+ chipset is supported by the MediaTek Imagiq 890, which is an image signal processor that is claimed to produce brighter and sharper photos or videos. Even for shooting in low light.
Apart from that, it is powered by MediaTek MiraVision 890 which is said to be able to offer adaptive refresh rates and reduce blurring. It then features HyperEngine 6.0 to optimize the user’s gaming experience while still being able to maintain high frame rates and minimize lag.
Not only that, the MediaTek 5G UltraSave 3.0 feature is said to be able to save power for long-term use of the device in 5G network conditions. The Dimensity 9200+ chipset uses a 4CC-CA 5G Release-16 modem which is expected to be able to switch smoothly between sub-6GHz and mmWave frequencies.
Company
While the chipsets Company designed for Chromebook-style laptops. Kompanio processors come in three segments that include the entry-level Kompanio 500 series, the mid-range Kompanio 800 series, and the premium Kompanio 1000 series.
The Kompanio series of processors are specifically for thin and light Chromebook laptops that offer benefits in the form of 1.9 times longer battery life than similar devices, made of environmentally friendly materials, claimed to offer fast multitasking performance and a quiet machine .
In 2023, it is interesting that MediaTek will equip Chromebook laptops with Kompanio processors in cooperation with local suppliers in Indonesia and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek). Vendors MediaTek has partnered with are Evercross, Advan Axioo, SPC, TSMID and Zyrex.
Genius
Unlike the above two chipsets, Genio is a chipset designed by MediaTek for IoT devices aimed at the commercial market. The Genio chipset provides multi-core performance while saving power.
Backed by regular OS and security updates, the Genio chipset is a product that is safe to use in the long run. Features such as 5G network coverage, WiFi, APU Core, AI acceleration and Unified SDK to reduce development costs and get the company to market faster.
