Sony Releases Vlogging ZV-1 Mark II Camera in Indonesia, Now You Can Touch the Screen

Gadgetren – Sony has officially brought their new vlogging camera to Indonesia, which is the successor to the Sony ZV-1 camera.

This vlog camera that carries a light and compact body is called ZV-1 Mark II and can be ordered in Indonesia at a price of IDR 13,999,000 until August 6, 2023.

During the order period, the buyer will receive a free gift in the form of a Bluetooth Grip Unit (GP-VPT2BT) and a Sony Limited Edition Travel Backpack.

The ZV-1 Mark II vlog camera comes in two variants including black and white. Through the second generation ZV-1 camera, Sony also provides updates that were not previously available in the first generation ZV-1.

One of them is support for a wider 18mm lens so users can get a wider angle. But the ZV-1 Mark II lens has a telephoto lens that only reaches 50mm which is not as far as the ZV-1 with 70mm.

Apart from that, the most significant change is the rear camera panel, which can now be operated via touch for easy management of camera and video features.

Although it brings many new features, the ZV-1 Mark II does not provide gimbal stabilization or optical image stabilization (OIS) support, so shooting moving images results in less stable video.

Just like the first generation, the ZV-1 Mark II has a 20.1MP resolution with a 1.0-type Exmor RS image sensor and a ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* f/1.8 lens powered by the BIONZ X image processing engine.

With a wider lens, the ZV-1 Mark II camera is also able to recognize multiple faces to automatically adjust focus on all of them to be clear when taking selfies or in tight spaces.

Features such as Touch Focus, Touch Tracking and Touch Shutter have also been provided which allow users to focus, track and take photos by simply touching the subject on the panel.

The screen can rotate and face forward, so users can record video and see the results immediately. In this mode, users can also combine it with the GP-VPT2BT grip which has buttons and controls for easy recording.

For high-quality live streaming, the ZV-1 Mark II can be connected to a computer or smartphone with a separately purchased USB cable to act as a webcam.

In video calls, there’s a Creative Look mode to adjust the appearance and skin color to make faces look clearer with Face Priority AE. In addition, the eyes will stay in focus through the Real-time Eye AF function. The charging itself uses a USB Type-C connector.

Meanwhile, to support accessibility for users who have eye disorders, they can use the screen reader feature. When screen reader is enabled, the text on the menu screen will be read aloud.

A screen reader can also run during playback so that the user can hear the text on the screen and the displayed selection information. Along with the ZV-1 Mark II vlog camera, Sony also introduced the FE 70-200mm F4 Macro G OSS II telephoto zoom lens (SEL70200G2), which has a focal length of 70mm to 200mm with a maximum aperture of f/4.0.

The new lens is also compatible with full-frame 35mm Alpha E-mount cameras. Not only does this lens feature high-speed, high-performance autofocus, it’s also the first zoom lens to be claimed to offer half-macro capability across the entire zoom range with a maximum magnification of 0.5x.

The FE 70-200MM F4 Macro G OSS II lens will be available in Indonesia in August 2023 at a price of IDR 24,999,000. Buyers can also order it while the ZV-1 Mark II pre-order is open.
