Gadgetren – At the Google I/O 2023 tech show, Google officially unveiled its first foldable mobile phone called the Pixel Fold.
Currently, the Pixel Fold can be ordered worldwide, especially in the United States with a price starting at USD 1799 or the equivalent of Rp 26.4 million. and will be available in June 2023.
The Pixel Fold itself comes in two color variants, including Porcelain and Obsidian. Of course, this foldable device has different dimensions than its rival Galaxy Z Fold4, especially in the smaller second screen or cover on the front.
The Pixel Fold has a 5.8-inch screen with a resolution of 2092 x 1080 pixels and a brightness level of up to 1550 nits. While the main screen has a size of 7.6″ which has a resolution of 2208 x 1840 pixels with a brightness level of 1450 nits.
The main display and the Pixel Fold cover are also equipped with OLED panels and support a 120Hz refresh rate and are protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. We could say that the Pixel Fold’s main screen is the same size as the Galaxy Z Fold4.
With a smaller cover screen size, the Pixel Fold has smaller vertical dimensions so it has a wider body on the side. This way this device looks more concise.
However, it weighs more than the Galaxy Z Fold4, which is about 283 grams, because the battery has a large capacity of up to 4,821 mAh which is equipped with 33 W charging via USB Type C.
Unfortunately, the charging adapter cable is not included in the purchase package, so the buyer has to get it separately, and the Pixel Fold is not yet supported by the Stylus Pen.
The operating system uses Android 13 and the performance is based on the Google Tensor G2 chipset combined with the Titan M2 security chip. This chipset comes with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256/512GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.
In terms of photography, the Pixel Fold offers three rear cameras in the form of a 48MP main lens with f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization (OIS), a 10.8MP wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 1/3″ sensor. and a 10.8MP telephoto lens with f/3.05 aperture and 5x optical zoom.
Next, the camera above the cover display has a resolution of 9.5MP with an aperture of f/2.2, and the camera on the main display has a resolution of 8MP with an aperture of f/2. Video recording with the rear camera can produce 4K resolution at 60 fps with support for HD modes, slow motion up to 240 fps, 4K timelapse with stabilization and astrophotography timelapse.
Other supporting features like fingerprint scanner located on the power button, facial recognition, IPX8 certification indicating that the device is splash resistant, reaches 5G networks, WiFi 6E has been given.
