This is the difference between Vivo Y36 and Redmi Note 12 – is it just the camera?

Gadgetren – Both targeting the mid-range, the Vivo Y36 and the Redmi Note 12 have quite a few similarities apart from their various differences.

Both these mobile phones can support the 4G LTE Category 13 network to have download speeds of up to 390 Mbps and uploads of up to 150 Mbps.

In plain view, both mobile phones have Full HD + displays that fill the front with a small bezel and a hole at the top, so you can feel free when enjoying entertainment content.

Moreover, both are also equipped with 3.5mm audio jack support, USB Type-C, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC (Near Field Communication), USB On-The-Go (OTG) and the Android 13 operating system.

On the front, the Redmi Note 12 is equipped with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, which can display content brighter and clearer than the Vivo Y36, each based on a 6.64-inch IPS screen.

Even the Redmi Note 12 has a display with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz which will naturally display smoother transitions and animations compared to the Vivo Y36 display which has a 90Hz refresh rate.

vivo Y36 uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 (6nm) Octa-Core chipset while Redmi Note 12 is driven by Snapdragon 685 (6nm) Octa-Core chipset. Both of these chipsets rely on the Cortex-A73 to handle high performance and the more efficient Cortex-A53.

However, the Cortex-A73 speed of the Snapdragon 685 is superior so it can provide slightly more powerful performance than the Snapdragon 680. Both of these Snapdragon chipsets both use the Adreno 610 GPU which can handle graphics processing well.

With a 5,000mAh battery, the Vivo Y36 can last 8 hours for playing games, 22 hours for video playback and 31 hours for making calls. While the Redmi Note 12 with the same capacity can last 9 hours to play games, 21 hours to watch videos or 31 hours to make calls.

The vivo Y36 has a 44W FlashCharge function, of course it will be able to charge the battery faster than the 33W fast charging of the Redmi Note 12. Interestingly, the Redmi Note 12 has an infrared sensor that can be used to control home electronics. While Vivo Y36 does not have this sensor.

Both these phones have triple rear cameras with a 50 MP primary camera and a 2 MP macro camera. However, the Redmi Note 12 supports an 8MP ultra-wide camera that can instantly produce wide-area photos, while the Vivo Y36 provides a 2MP depth camera as an addition.

However, the Vivo Y36 has a 16MP front camera which will have slightly higher details than the Redmi Note 12 which has a 13MP front camera for both selfies and video calls.

With a combination of 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, the Vivo Y36 is priced at IDR 3,399,000. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 12, which has 128GB of internal storage, is available with an option of 4GB RAM for Rp. 2,599,000, 6GB RAM for Rp. 2,799,000. and 8GB RAM for Rp 2,999,000.
