Gadgetren – TECNO introduced CAMON 20 Premier 5G and 20 Pro 5G in Indonesia with relatively high specifications in its class.
Both these phones are driven by MediaTek Dimensity 8050 (6nm) chipset with Octa-Core 3GHz speed and Mali-G77 MC9 GPU which has powerful performance to run apps and games smoothly.
Thanks to the presence of a 5G modem in the MediaTek chipset, the TECNO CAMON 20 Premier 5G and CAMON 20 Pro 5G are able to support 5G networks with download speeds of up to 4.7 Gbps and uploads of up to 2.5 Gbps.
Both these phones are also equipped with 8GB of RAM to handle multitasking activities. Additionally, there is an Extended RAM feature that can borrow free internal storage to get up to 8GB of additional RAM.
All these mobile phones are equipped with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD + resolution (2400 x 1080 pixels), which can display content bright and clear. Thanks to the 120 Hz refresh rate, the screen will show smooth transitions between menus and game animations.
Right on the punch hole where the 32 MP front camera is used for taking photos, video calls and Face Unlock. With the front camera, users can also record videos up to Full HD (1080p) 30 fps.
The design of the two mobile phones is unique because it uses a diamond pattern that makes it look charming. Dual SIM support, WiFi, in-display fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C port and Android 13 are also built into both.
TECNO also promises that these two devices will receive the Android 13 update in 2024. With a 5,000mAh battery, these two phones are claimed to last all day in normal use.
TECNO CAMON 20 Premier 5G vs CAMON 20 Pro 5G
The most noticeable difference between the two devices is in the internal storage where the TECNO CAMON 20 Premier 5G has a capacity of 512 GB which is double the CAMON 20 Pro 5G which has a capacity of 256 GB.
In addition, the TECNO CAMON 20 Premier 5G is equipped with a Super Charge 45W function that can charge the battery faster than the Super Charge 33W belonging to the CAMON 20 Pro 5G.
Both the main cameras of these two phones use RGBW (Red Green Blue White) technology that is able to absorb a lot of light to produce brighter and clearer photos in various conditions, both during the day and at night.
However, the TECNO CAMON 20 Premier 5G which uses a 50MP primary camera is claimed to be able to produce sharper and better photos compared to the CAMON 20 Pro 5G which has a 64MP primary camera.
Even so, these two mobile phones are capable of producing photos using pixel binning technology to take good photos in various conditions and have high detail.
Even TECNO also claims that the OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) sensor shift feature on the CAMON 20 Premier 5G will make video recording more stable than the standard OIS feature on the CAMON 20 Pro 5G to reduce shake.
TECNO CAMON 20 Premier 5G also features a 108MP ultra-wide camera on the back, which is capable of producing wide-area photos as well as for macro photos. Meanwhile, the CAMON 20 Pro 5G does not have an ultra-wide camera, but only a 2MP macro camera.
Both the phones are also equipped with a 2MP bokeh camera to support taking Portrait photos with bokeh effect in the background.
Right next to the rear camera, the CAMON 20 Premier 5G has an Octa-Ring Flash that can present a brighter light than the Quad-Ring Flash that the CAMON 20 Pro 5G has.
Unfortunately, the TECNO CAMON 20 Premier 5G is no longer equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack port, so you need a dongle or audio device that supports USB-C if you want to stay connected via cable.
But contrary to that, it turns out that the CAMON 20 Pro 5G still has a 3.5mm audio jack port that allows for more flexible use of audio devices.
In Indonesia, the TECNO CAMON 20 Premier 5G itself costs IDR 5,999,000. However, the price for the CAMON 20 Pro 5G has not been announced because the sales phase will only start in August 2023. However, from the features offered, it seems that the CAMON 20 Pro 5G will be priced cheaper than the CAMON 20 Premier 5G.
