Gadgetren – Vivo Y36 mobile phone was officially launched on May 25, 2023 yesterday. Priced at Rp.3,399,000, this device can indeed be a new mid-range option.
The specifications of the device manufactured by Vivo are no less interesting compared to mobile phones in its class. Even on paper, there are many advantages to consider when we are confused about looking for a new mobile phone.
Even so, before buying a mobile phone that comes in Glitter Aqua and Meteor Black color variants, we need to pay attention to several things. The Vivo Y36 device has not only advantages but also a number of disadvantages.
Advantages of Vivo Y36
1. Premium Design
When we talk about mobile phones manufactured by Vivo, we cannot skip the beautiful body design, where Vivo Y36 is the same. The device, whose price is less than Rp. 3.5 million, is even the first time to bring Dynamic Glass Design to the Y series.
As the name suggests, Dynamic Glass Design is a premium body design that will cover Vivo phones with glass material. It will usually be developed with various processing technologies so that the results are more varied.
Specifically for the Vivo Y36, two processing technologies are used. These include the Golden Ripple process used to create a shimmering lake-like effect on the Glitter Aqua and Fluorite AG Glass models to give the Meteor Black version a matte finish.
Thanks to the application of this Dynamic Glass Design, the Vivo Y36 will also look more premium. vivo specially combines it with 2.5D Flat Frame Design that makes the side look like a new generation iPhone and Fantasy Frame to beautify the camera unit.
2. Large capacity memory
Inside its beautiful body, the Vivo Y36 also comes with a large memory configuration. This mobile comes in a version that has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
With 8GB of RAM, there’s no need to worry when the mobile is used to run multiple apps at the same time or multitask. Vivo Y36 also has extended RAM support, which can provide additional capacity via virtual memory up to 8GB if it is still missing.
The 256 GB storage media is also quite sufficient for today’s use. We can freely store various kinds of files, from photos, videos, documents, songs to application data.
Also note that the Vivo Y36 also supports expansion via an external memory slot of up to 1TB, which can be used if the internal space runs out. So later we don’t have to bother moving data or signing up for cloud storage services.
3. Battery and charging quality
In order to support the various activities carried out by the users, the Vivo Y36 is also armed with a fairly large battery. The mobile phone will even technically be able to accept power with a capacity of up to 5,000 mAh.
Compared to cell phones that use batteries of similar capacity, the Vivo Y36 can definitely be used to perform various tasks without fear of running out of power. We will not need to do the charging process very often.
Even if you need to charge, the Vivo Y36 is also equipped with 44W FlashCharge support that can shorten the process. This technology is claimed to be able to fill up to 30 percent capacity in just 15 minutes.
4. Hard body
Apart from the premium design, the body of the Vivo Y36 is also designed to be tough when used in various conditions. One of these mobile phones is equipped with splash and dust resistant features which are proved by IP54 certification.
Based on the information obtained by the Gadgetren team, this mobile phone, on the other hand, also needs to undergo various rigorous tests before release. Examples include 32,000 drop tests, 6,000 times using the USB Type-C port, use in extreme temperatures, and 6,500 times installing the audio jack.
Disadvantages of Vivo Y36
1. Questionable screen protector
Present in the IDR 3 million category, the Vivo Y36 display is actually quite standard, carrying a 6.64-inch Full HD + IPS panel with a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. It’s just that, unfortunately, Vivo doesn’t reveal at all whether the mobile phone already comes with a protective screen layer like Corning Gorilla Glass or not.
The good news is that the Vivo Y36 sales package also includes a screen protector accessory which has been applied directly. That’s why we only need to buy a new one when it’s broken or inconvenient to use.
2. Go back to Use the same Chipset
As the successor of Vivo Y35, this mobile phone also has several other shortcomings. One of them is the kitchen runner which is now making a comeback using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 (6nm) chipset with speeds up to 2.4 GHz.
It doesn’t really matter because the Snapdragon 680 can still be used for casual use today. It’s just that if you look at the official price, there are quite a few mobile phones released in a similar price range that already have more up-to-date chipset support.
3. Camera configuration is reduced
Apart from using the same chipset, the Vivo Y36 also comes with less camera support than the Vivo Y35. The handset seems to have ditched the 2MP macro sensor that was once a mainstay in the previous generation.
Apart from the removal of the macro sensor, thankfully this phone still uses the same lens configuration as the Vivo Y35. Specifically, the Vivo Y36 device still uses a 50MP main + 2MP depth and 16MP front camera.
