Gadgetren – Good news for new YouTube content creators where YouTube has now reduced the number of subscribers requirements so they can qualify for the YouTube Partner Program or YPP so they can generate quick cash.
For those of you who don’t know, YPP is a monetization program provided by YouTube to content creators so they can make money through videos uploaded to their platform using a personal account.
Previously, Youtube itself provided a YPP access policy where creators’ content must have at least 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time in the last year or 10 million short views in the last 90 days.
the YouTube has changed its YPP pass policy to make it easier for creators to earn money faster and still targets specific regions. Exceptions provided by YouTube for creator content to pass through YPP include the requirement that the number of subscribers be 500 subscribers.
Not only this, YouTube also makes it easy for creators by facilitating other conditions like uploading 3 videos in the last 90 days and 3,000 hours of watch time in the last year or 3 million views of Shorts in the last 90 days.
If creators meet these requirements, they can immediately apply to become YPP creators, which will bring them benefits. One of them is access to YouTube’s monetization feature, which allows creators to earn money from the results of their uploaded videos.
Additionally, if creators pass YPP, they will also get features like Super Thanks, Super Chat, Super Stickers and more. They will then receive tools such as channel subscriptions and the ability to promote their own merchandise through YouTube Shopping.
Unfortunately for content creators in Indonesia, they have to be patient because the new YPP policy is implemented in selected regions such as the United States (US), United Kingdom, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea.
It is likely that the new YPP policy will soon be implemented in other regions, including Indonesia in the near future. In addition to long videos, in February 2023 YouTube also implemented monetization of short videos or YouTube shorts.
If you pass YPP, both YouTube Long and Short videos uploaded by creators will automatically be eligible for ad revenue sharing. In the meantime, the existing eligibility requirements for opening YouTube policy ad revenue sharing remain the same.
