Terms of Use

Terms governing the use of the local browser-based workspace for document photo preparation, validation, export, and printing.

Nature of the service

IDfot is a free browser-based tool for careful preparation of photos for passports, visas, identity cards, residence permits, driver’s licenses, and other documents where precise cropping, validation, and export are required.

The service is intended to assist with practical photo preparation and review through measurable rules, conservative heuristics, and manual warnings. It is not a government service, an accredited laboratory, a biometric certification system, an official filing platform, legal advice, or a substitute for professional review where such review is required.

Informational and assistive character

The service presents measurable checks, risk indicators, heuristics, and items for manual review, but it does not provide official approval, a legally binding conclusion, or a determination that is binding on any authority.

Even if the interface indicates that a result appears acceptable or close to a requirement, that does not constitute official confirmation that the photograph is suitable.

The final decision to accept or reject a photograph is always made by the receiving authority, consulate, embassy, filing portal, printer, operator, or other competent organization.

No guarantee of acceptance and no promise of outcome

The service does not guarantee acceptance of a photograph, successful filing, absence of rejection, absence of remarks by the receiving authority, compliance with all local or unpublished review practices, or suitability of the result for any particular purpose.

Requirements may change over time, differ among agencies, consulates, filing formats, paper and digital workflows, and may also depend on the internal practice of a particular operator.

The user is solely responsible for independently verifying the final result against current official requirements and, where appropriate, against official links and instructions.

User responsibility for the source image, edits, and final file

The user is solely responsible for the lawful origin of the photograph, the right to use and edit the image, the lawfulness of uploading the photo into the workspace, and the lawfulness of any subsequent use of the final result.

The user is also solely responsible for selecting the correct country and document profile, evaluating warnings, checking the crop, deciding whether to apply automatic preparation, manual adjustments, export, printing, and transmission of the final file.

If a photograph contains sensitive personal data, the user alone decides whether this workflow is appropriate and whether the user trusts the user’s device, browser, camera, clipboard, printer, and subsequent storage environment.

Permitted use

The service may be used only for lawful, good-faith, and non-deceptive purposes.

Users must not use the product to create forged, misleading, fraudulent, identity-distorting, or otherwise unlawful images.

Users must not use the service to conceal material non-compliance, simulate official biometric control, evade lawful requirements, engage in forgery, impersonation, infringement of third-party rights, or any other abusive conduct.

Risky edits and limits of the tool

The service intentionally distinguishes safer composition operations from riskier tonal and background edits; however, the mere availability of a particular function does not mean that such an edit is permissible for a specific document or a specific authority.

The user may not treat risky edits as automatically acceptable merely because the tool allows them or does not technically block them.

If a particular filing requires stricter biometric control, laboratory printing, an official photo studio, specific color handling, stricter background rules, a prohibition on certain corrections, or another specialized workflow, the user is solely responsible for taking those requirements into account.

Technical limitations and availability

IDfot is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.

Processing speed, recognition accuracy, correctness of particular measurements, camera availability, stability of processing, support for specific formats, and final export quality depend on the browser, device, operating system, file size, quality of the source image, resolution, lighting, facial characteristics, background, and other environmental factors.

The service does not promise uninterrupted operation, absence of errors, suitability for every possible document, identical behavior across all browsers and devices, or universal accuracy in every scenario.

External services and third-party resources

If a user proceeds to an external background-removal tool, the Adobe Express helper, or any other third-party service, any further use of that service is at the user’s own risk and subject to the rules of the relevant third party.

We are not responsible for the content, availability, security, privacy practices, terms of use, accuracy, stability, or results of third-party websites, official requirements pages, consular portals, printing services, or other external resources.

Exports, printing, and downstream use

Once the final file has been downloaded, copied, transmitted, printed, or published, the user is solely responsible for its storage, review, archiving, delivery, print quality, legibility, dimensional correctness, and any subsequent use.

Before filing, submission, printing, archiving, or any other material use, the user must independently review the final image, print sheet, or report.

The service helps prepare and review a photo, but it does not replace the user’s own careful review, the internal procedures of an organization, a professional photo studio, a print laboratory, or the requirements of the receiving authority.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Sergey Solod shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or similar damages, or for any loss of data, time, income, goodwill, filing opportunity, visa or passport outcome, printed materials, documents, or other tangible or intangible losses arising out of or relating to the use of the service, the inability to use the service, browser limitations, source-image quality, user error, unsuitable profile selection, non-acceptance of a photograph, or insufficient review of the final result.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability to the extent that such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

Intellectual property

All rights in the website, software, page structure, text, interface, validation logic, presets, brand, and related materials belong to Sergey Solod or the relevant rights holders unless expressly stated otherwise.

The user is granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, and non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose in accordance with these Terms.

Changes to the service and to these Terms

The features of the service, the workspace, requirements catalogs, guides, external links, validation logic, and the operating model of the product may be modified, limited, suspended, or discontinued at any time.

These Terms may also be updated as the product, infrastructure, legal requirements, and operating practices evolve.

Continued use of the site after an updated version has been published constitutes acceptance of the then-current version of these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
